Dave DeWeese
David S. DeWeese, began practicing law in New Jersey in 1983 after receiving his B.A. from Wake Forest University and then receiving his J.D. from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law. Early in his career, David served the City of North Wildwood as a Prosecutor, Assistant Solicitor and Solicitor. He also served as the Borough of Stone Harbor Prosecutor. Thereafter, in 1989 David was appointed as a Municipal Court Judge in the City of Wildwood, and thereafter, he served as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Wildwood from 1989 through 2010, for the Township of Lower from 2002 through 2010, for the Borough of West Cape May from 2005 through 2010, for the Borough of Cape May Point from 2005 through 2009 and for the Borough of West Wildwood from 1989 through 1996. David became a Diplomate in New Jersey Municipal Law in 1994 through the New Jersey Institute of Municipal Attorneys program at Rutgers University.

David is currently the Fund Solicitor and Subrogation Attorney for three Municipal Joint Insurance Funds, Atlantic County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland Counties Municipal Joint Insurance Fund and Burlington County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund. As the Fund Solicitor for these municipal joint insurance funds, David supervises all of the litigation on behalf of 104 South Jersey municipalities. David is also the Senior Partner in The DeWeese Law Firm, a Professional Corporation which handles complex civil litigation, criminal and municipal court matters, business and corporate law matters, real estate and estate matters.

David served on the Supreme Court of New Jersey District I Ethics Committee in the following capacities: Chairman, 2015 through 2017; Vice Chairman, 2013 through 2015; Attorney Member, 2012 through present and on the Fee Arbitration Committee, from 1992 through 1994. David has also served his community as the President of the Cape May County Bar Association, the President of the Optimist Club of the Wildwoods, the President of the Greater Wildwood Little League and the Vice-President of the Wildwood Golf & County Club. David is a life-long resident of the Wildwoods.
