Dear Members – NJILGA has received the following notice from Hill Wallack regarding the passing of Rocky Peterson, Esq. In addition to his many other accomplishments, Rocky was a Senior Trustee and a valued member of the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys. We will miss his wise counsel, and we express our condolences to his wife, Judge Paulette Sapp-Peterson and his entire family.

We regret to announce the passing of Rocky Peterson, who died of complications from a stroke at the age of 72. Rocky, after beginning his career with the Attorney General’s Office, has worked at Hill Wallack, first as an associate and then as a long-standing partner for 35 years. During his tenure with Hill Wallack, Rocky was a member of the Mercer County Bar, while actively giving back to the community. Rocky served on the NJ Supreme Court Disciplinary Review Committee, including as the Chair. Rocky’s family will host a Memorial at Hill Wallack LLP on Saturday, April 26, 2025 commencing at 10 a.m.
