The Passing of Ron Cucchiaro: A Valued Leader and Friend

I am sad to report that our friend and colleague Ron Cucchiaro died Saturday. Ron was a valued member of the Institute.  He was our president in 2017 and 2018.

He won the Michael A. Pane Award in 2006 — an award that “celebrates individuals who demonstrate exceptional ethics and leadership in local government, inspiring trust and accountability.” He was an associate editor of the Local Government Law Review, and annually organized the “Attorneys & Engineers – Perfect Together” seminar at the NJLM conference. His other accomplishments are too numerous to list.

He was a true expert in our field. We will miss him, and we send our deepest condolences to his family.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 10:15 AM at the Flynn/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave, Fords, NJ 08863.
