Dominic P. DiYanni

Dominic P. DiYanni, Esq. is a graduate of Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, CT where he concentrated in tax and a graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA where he studied political science. Mr. DiYanni is currently a member of the firm of Eric M. Bernstein & Associates, LLC where he focuses his practice on local government law with a special emphasis on property tax appeals, prosecuting municipal court matters, and defending public entities in civil litigation. Mr. DiYanni has knowledge and experience in the areas of residential, commercial and industrial tax appeals, municipal and land use law, Open Public Records Act issues (OPRA), the Local Public Contracts Law, Pay-to-Play, Local Lands and Buildings Law, the Redevelopment Law, prosecutes and defends Orders to Show Cause, engages in extensive motion practice both at the Superior Court and Appellate Division levels, drafts and reviews bid specifications, and prepares Resolutions and Ordinances and any amendments thereto. In addition, Mr. DiYanni has civil litigation experience where he has successfully litigated cases not only for private clients but also for the Morris County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund, Somerset County Joint Insurance Fund, the Ocean County Joint Insurance Fund, Environmental Joint Insurance Fund, the Public Entity Joint Insurance Fund, the Garden State Municipal Joint Insurance Fund and the Municipal Excess Liability Fund. Mr. DiYanni was a former senior associate at the Law Firm of Dorsey & Semrau where he worked exclusively and extensively with local governments as municipal attorney or in defending the local government units through the aforementioned insurance funds. In addition, Mr. DiYanni was also a former Partner at the firm of Davenport & Spiotti where he focused his efforts on property tax appeal matters. Furthermore, Mr. DiYanni has also successfully defended and argued appeals in the Appellate Division and the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey. He also currently serves as counsel to Franklin Township Fire District No. 1 in Somerset County, New Jersey and municipal prosecutor for the Borough of South Bound Brook. Mr. DiYanni is a husband and devoted father of one.
